does any one know where can I find a write up to replace u joints. does anyone know where to get a kit to replace them with all the parts needed.

Are you under 60,000 miles?. If so it is covered under the 5 year, or 60,000 mile powertrain warranty.

 

I have 74k on it. Thanks 02ae for the idea anyway. Do you know where I can buy a kit and also find a write up?

You can buy U-joints at pretty much any parts store, pep boys, auto zone, etc.

If you don't have experience changing them, it might be better to take the truck to a driveline shop, and have them replace them.

Maybe someone here is aware of a step-by-step writeup?.

 

well I do not have experience but would like to try to wrench them out so that I can learn. That is how I have learned other mechanical procedures. Is it too complicated. do yo know of anything in particular I would need to look at??

 

It's not necessarily difficult to replace U-joints. But the consequences of doing it wrong can vary from just annoying (vibrations), to dangerous (the propeller shaft comes apart).
