2001 4Runner Replacement Foglight Question

I posted a thread about this the other day and thought I had it resolved. I ordered a replacement Hella Micro DE fog lamp for my '01 4Runner Sport. It looked kind of funny when I opened it but I thought it would be ok. Well, I tried to but it in tonight and it could not be any different from the stock one. Won't even come close to fitting. The stock lamp was a Stanley with the model number SAEF 95 etched vertically down the lens. Anyone know what this is or where I can get one? I DON'T want to order the wrong lamp again. I think some local salvage yards might have one, but do you guys know of anywhere? Thanks.

Also, is this the correct model for the Stanley lamp?

Matt

CLin9383,
I made an AutoCAD drawing of the "faceplate" that the gauges are mounted in and I sent it to Dakota Digital (the guys I bought the gauges from). They cut it for me for about $20. Absolutely perfect cut. The faceplate is held onto the trim panel with epoxy. The face was really too perfect a cut to do anything else but expoxy it on there. Then I just installed the gauges. They are held on by a square U bolt that pulls the gauges against the faceplate. It was really pretty easy. Worse part is that the gauges were kinda expensive. Looks and works great though. Later.

I warned you guys these lamps were different than the DE's. You should be able to install the DE's if the set you bought came with the cooresponding brackets. You can get the Stanleys from the dealer as an assembly ONLY or buy it used from someone with FACTORY not DEALER installed lamps. The lens on the Stanleys is removeable/replaceable but I have emailed numerous places in the US, Japan, and Thailand and either they do not reply or they cannot get them for us. Also I have read that Hella and Stanley Electric Co. establish a Holding Company in Melbourne, Australia. That could be why the lamps are similar. But Hella USA said by email they do not know anything. I thought that would help us get a lens, no dice.
