Is this 2000 runner worth it?

My g/f is looking to become part of the 4runner family. Thinking about getting a 2000 white 2wd base 4runner. It has 124,000 miles and they want $7900. It's clean inside and out. What do you all think mileage, style and price sound about right?

Id pay 6500 for it if private party.

for private party sale, note that texas DMV changes the way the sales tax goes. Apparently, too many ppl are evading tax when switching title, so they will go w/ their own blue book value for tax amt. keep that in mind, and the policies passed last october.

save some money and get a 2wd V6. 4cyl are a piece of ˟˟˟˟˟ anways, and i got one w/ auto. so slow and no power at all and am averaging 17-19mpg.

i can guess thats the retail value not private party. if i didnt state it clearly, i meant private party value.

Its not POS because you've NOT driven a v6 auto to compare it w/. My friends has a 2wd v6 limited and it has significant difference of power. If I remember correctly w/ your totalled 4cyl, you had 5spd, and it shouldnt be comparable to auto ones.

FWIW I got a 2000 4Runner Highlander 4wd w/ 145k miles for $92xx.. which isn't THAT much more than that one...and it's got options / 4wd / v6.

The KBB on it (private party) with the miles on it was only a couple hundred $$ more than that in 'good' condition..and it was in good-excellent condition for the age.. few small scrates / two small dents on the back.

This was last month when I bought it..
