Well, I went and picked up the runner today ( 10 hour drive each way ) and so far am VERY happy with it...

I only have one concern. After driving for a while I stopped to stretch my legs. I left the truck running in nuetral and got out. I noticed the idle sounded high. I looked at the tach and it was at 2000 RPMs... I shut the key off, then restarted the truck right away. The truck started perfectly and idle settled to aprox 750 RPMs. I gave it a rev to 3000 RPMs to see what it would do, and again it only droped down to 2000 RPMs.

Where is a good place to start looking??? I was thinking Vacuum leak, but then wouldnt I have a high idle all the time and not just after reving the engine?? I was going to see what the TPS sweep looks like.. What does the 3.4L use to control its idle? Does it have an Idle Air Control Motor? of use the wax pellet style like the 3.0L?? Any other ideas would be VERY helpful to me...

I had the same problem on w/ m 22RE. There is a little screw on the plenum near the butterfly valve...I guess you call it that on FI vehicles. Anyways, If it's similar, you might be able to locate it on yours. My mechanic said that if it's loose the vaccum pressure can cause it to back out, and it needs to be kept snug. My Idle surged like that any time I went over 70mph. Now that I have that screwed in all the way it doesn't do it.

Thanks for the help Bob... it ended up that the dashpot was sticking... I adjusted the screw on the throttle linkage and now it it all good!!!!
