I have a 2000 4Runner V6 Changed alternator Alternator is charging but battery light stays on.???

 

Just what alternator ?? What vendor did you buy it from ??

Did you have them test it before you left the store??

What do you get when you measure the voltage at the battery??

Did you charge your battery before installing the new one??

Just what was wrong with the old one ??

I have gotten bad alternators from part stores. Most are rebuilt units that are done with poor quality. I prefer to find a shop the specializes in rebuilding starters and alternators.

 

Being just like Mom and Pop Radiator shops I have found some shops tell me it is not cost effective time wise to mess with our tiny alternators .

They are more then happy to order a reman that they sell. rather then do the work in house.

Much better to rebuild the heavy duty truck ones where one can charge $500.00 and customers are happy
