Exclamation 2000 4runner losing anti freeze at bottom of engine

My 2000 4runner is leaking anti freeze from the bottom drivers side of the engine. Can someone tell me what would cause this. I checked and the reservoir was empty. I can see some leakage just on the other side of the suspension.

leaky hose? leaking radiator. cracked water pump.
you need to pin point the location, leaks like this tend to follow a path from their origin...

Leaky oil cooler hose (there are 2 of them)? Leaking coolant overflow tank? Leaking head gasket?

Get under there with a good flash light and start looking for the coolant crust.

I used a pressure tester and it does look like 2 hoses are leaking down in that area. One is coming from a hose that leads down toward the cross arms just behind the axle. The other from what I can tell leade to a metal capped hose that stops around the wheel well. It lost around 2 PSI in about 20 minutes.... From what I can tell it is not leaking around the head at all...

Check your lower radiator hoses. I had exactly the same leaking you observed.

I already had new hoses, so I snugged the clamps and doubled up on clamps in the problem area (lower radiator hose going into the engine).

Seems to have cleared up the issue.

Last summer I ran into a problem with my upper hose coming completely off. The original clamps seem to have given way. Luckily I was only one block from my destination when it happened. Haven't had a problem since.

Good luck!

I've had a Freeze Plug/Block Heater leak before. It is about the lowest source of coolant leak you can get on these engines. If you've got one installed you might check it out too.

Just my 2 cents.
