Just pulled a code and cleared it for a girl I work with. 2000 Limited.

P0420 - Catalyst system effeciency below threshold (bank1)

I need to check again and see if it is a CA emmisions model.

Basically, we got three options :

1. Leaky exhaust
2. Bad O2 sensor
3. Bad cat

I asked here to watch for the MIL to come back.

Just checking to see if anyone here has recently dealt with this code and what the most likely problem is.

I can see from the title you had it as PO not P + 4 digit code number.

 

That was it Jamie... I can have digit dsylexia on occasion.

I am really hoping the code comes back as this girl is very, very cute and single although she may be a tad young for me.
