Anyone know what the stock rim backspacing was in 85? I have 32x11.5 BFG AT's on Ultra 15x7's that a friend that owns a Frontier wants to trade for his Pathfinder wheels with 33x12.5 MTR's, not sure if I am going to have a clearance problem with the calipers or possibly the springs.

About 3-3/8":



You can usually go up to about 3-3/4", maybe 4" backspace with a shorter tire, but you'll starting hitting the springs, steering arm and frame in short order.

 

3 3/4 MAX!!

It will hit the tie rod ends if any more.

 

That is good info to know considering I now own a 1st genner and new tires/rims are on the horizon next week.

What size are the wheels you have now on your 85? and are you going to be selling them?

 

THESE RIMS ARE ON THERE NOW, with some 31" MT/Rs on them. I won't be using them and will be selling them eventually.

I'm getting some 16" black steelies w/ 35" MT/Rs.
