1999 Limited w/ Heated Seats?

I just put $100 down on a 1999 4Runner Limited that is 1-1/2 hours from home. The ad claims that it has heated seats, but according to the chronology FAQ, this wasn't an option in 1999. Does anyone have a 99 w/ factory heated seats or know if the chronology is correct or if it has an omission?

Any help would be appreciated.

I expect to see the truck on Saturday, so I'll find out for sure then, and post what I find

My 1999 Limited with e-locker and all does not have heated seats either. This was not an option on an original 99 from all my searching when buying mine. Now maybe they swapped in heated seats from a later model??

i bought my runner on ebay and it said this as well. when i got it i wondered why there were no heated seats and on the site they say "heated seats", but they mean rear heater. unless they were custom installed by a dealer or someone else, you wont have em.

You can look up the factory options at places, maybe on autotrader or edmonds.com

I'm pretty sure that heated seats weren't available until 01, when they changed the 3rd gens a little. My 2000 limited has e-locker, towing package, the whole nine, but no heated seats, same thing with a couple of my friends 4runners.

i plan on installing heated seats on my 98 4r. i have fixed heated seats on different vehicles and what i did was just replace the heating pad. so i am going to buy the heating pads and wire it up. now all i have to do is find the parts.

I would love some buttheat.

My friend's Jetta had the heat and it was nice on a cold day as the seats got hot faster than the car did.

There are a few places that offer kits:
http://www.autowarm.com/products.php

.....same thing goes for heated mirrors (you can use ski mobile grip warmer kits for retrofit too).

Well,
I bought the car today. No heated seats, but I did get him to come down on the price a little by letting him know that it wasn't right to advertise something that wasn't on the truck. Thanks for all your help. YotaTech rocks!

The same company has the "II" seat heater kits for $86 ea. These are $120 on their website.

I'm so glad mine came with the Heated seat option. For all you guy's in cold climates this Mod would be well worth doing. Even if you have to take it to an upholstery shop. If mine ever goes out I will be getting it fixed ASAP.
