1998 power steering leak
I have a 1998 with the 3,4 v-6, and I'm having some power steering leakage. I have filled it with ATF (dex III or equiv). So far I cleaned of the oil and grime from around the rack and pinion after witnessing a few drops of cherry red fluid (I.E. my ATF) and my question is two part, first are there more lines on the front end of the rack (the part that faces the front of the truck) as well as the two that come in the back? Secondly, has any one else had leakes there? I don't wheel mine (yet), its bone stock, the tires are and inch undersized (short lady owned it), and I have 200.000 on it. So far I have put around 2.000 miles on it, and this has come up in the last few (200 or so) miles. I dont have another car so I'm topping it off (with ATF). Thanks you guys.

The hard lines don't leak. The pressure line leading from the pump to the gear is what leaks. Check the motor and make sure that its not leaking on the line, and if thats good replace the pressure line.

The fuild is building up near the point where the steering rod (where it joins to the steering wheel) at the bottom. Does that help? ok I found where its leaking and I got the gasket kit.
