1997 Taco Fuel pump problems HELP PLEASE

I have a 1997 Taco with the 3.4 v6 .The other day I was driving over to a friends house and I had no problems at all with the truck. But 10 minutes later when we went to leave the truck woluld not start .I checked for fuel and I have plenty but the fuel pump is not presurizing the system As I checked the fuel filter..Would the fuel pump just go out like that or is it more likely the EFI relay or fuel pump relay? I have a Chiltons manual but does not offer the locations of these relays.Any info that may be offered would be greatly appreciated!

A quick and dirty test is to remove the gas cap, and have an assistant switch the key to ON (not start) and see if you can hear the pump. It should run for about 2 seconds. If not, check the fuse and try to feel for the relay clicking. If the fuse is good and the relay clicks, your pump is most likely bad.
