1996 FZJ80 Coils

I know the preferred year is 1995, but I have an opportunity to get some 1996's with 120K on them. One is 7 wraps, one is 7.5. Anyone running 96's? What was your lift amount...ps, i've searched.

My guess would be about 3.5"

They should be on the lower side with 7 wraps, and a good amount of mileage.

Why are the '95's preffered? As far as I know all 80 series Land Cruiser springs are the same 91-97 with 2 exceptions: The 96-97 Lexus LX450 rear springs are supposed to be softer.
Land Cruisers that did not have a FACTORY INSTALLED third row also have a softer rear spring rate.

I have been told that the Lexus springs (rear) are the same ones used in non third row 80's but I haven't run the part #'s to be positive on that.

The non third row (from the factory, not just pulling the seats and brackets) are actually quite rare and the easiist way to ID a LC that was a factory non third row is that the rear side glass is a one piece instead of a slider. The only way that you could get a rear slider was with a third row. It is very hard to put the third row in a non third row 80 as the cargo floor pan and wheel houses are very different.

Anyhow that's what I know about that.
Hope that helps,

Dave

And on Land Cruisers, the slightly taller spring goes on the US Driver's side, so the one that has the 7.5 should be ~ 1/2 inch longer.

You use the front springs from a LandCruiser, not the rears.

Fronts are the same no matter what year or option level. the taller one still goes on the left side as sitting in the vehicle.

Aren't LC rears used on one of the generations of 4Runner? I have my stock springs still out in my shed.

Which set do I want to save for my '92 4Runner? what do I get for the front to complete the lift?

91-94 have longer springs, they are 8 wraps i would know i have them. They give way to much lift on my 4runner.

I believe the rears fit in the rears of 2nd generations.
