Exclamation 1993 4-Runner Is Becoming Slow

I bought a 1993 4runner with 150,000 miles on the engine, in the past year it has become very slow when going up hills. I have replaced Timing Belt, Spark Plugs, and installed a K&N airfilter.

Does anyone no if this is a common problem with this year for a V-6. Also if anyone has any ideas or how this problem can be resoved please let me know.

Thanks.

Try changing the wires - cap - rotor - fuel filter - cleaning throttle body and injectors. I have 142k on my rig and its running strong.

Not to mention that its just a slow vehicle anyways. I was having some serious power loss issues, but I recently put a new CAT on there and all my power is back. 142k on the original exhaust aint bad, the guy who put it on said my CAT wasnt even really working before.

Had this happen to a buddy of mine with a 93 4Runner.

Hes been moaning about it being doggy slow sometimes.

We were doing some work on in it,(Replacing the shocks) Truck jacked, tires off, while we were screwing around with his shocks I noticed I couldn't turn his rotors, the truck was in netural, parking brake wasn't engaged. But it was REALY had to turn the rotors, Well after screwing around for awhile, We discovered his calipers where shot and the pistons in the calipers were not fully dis-engaging (sp?) Leaving his brakes HALF on.

New Calipers, Some bleeding and problem solved.

So jack your front end off the ground and see if you can spin the tires or not.

Just a thought, you never know.

if that is the case, you should have serious brake dust, something like that usually breaks things well, burns them up fast.

You said "becoming slow." Indicating it wasn't always like this, but it is getting worse.

Change the fuel filter. It will make a world of difference.
