I was in Autozone yesterday and noticed Dorman has a line of reproduction
Key fobs and the totota looks like the original and cost 15.00
Last time i checked.....a toyota key fob was about 80.00

didn't see any out and about- it's the standard 2-button remote on the first page of that second link, but never seen it for under $40 (used unit). Just can't bring myself to drop $40 knowing the plastic that let go on my fobs is the same age as these ones...

maybe i can figure out a way to drill a hole for a new keyring..

 

Just to clarify the key fob / auto store idea......i just killed my key fob yesterday on my 99 runner and headed over to get one.
Its a key fob case.....not the internals. So, for 13.00 i replaced the case of the key fob and just switched the internal board and battery.
Sorry .....thought it was a complete unit.
