Cleaned MAF, New Purolator Air Filter (clogged with invisible pollen) and switched over to Synthetic .. every little bit helps, it was my first >18mpg tank in 2 months... was down to 16-16.5 prior.

Im about due for all that stuff myself. Im actually going to do the big overhaul here in about a month (water pump, timing belt, full tune up, fuel filter, ect...)
Hopefully i will see some gains also. With my new 33's im down to 16's also lol

If you pump up tires to where you will be getting an improvement in mileage, you will just wear them in the center faster. Extra mileage will come from the fact that you effectively just put the same weight on a smaller contact patch.
Anybody getting any tires soon? There are some low weight and low rolling resistance 600+ treadwear tires coming out now. Now those things in a 255 or less width should give a real MPG jump in city driving.

Ive also heard winter air is heavier than summer air, any truth to this? (j/k)
On a lighter note, im running 255/75's instead of the 275/65's and still ended up loosing MPG just because of rotational mass, so take that into consideration when buying tires if your souly going for MPG

runnning the correct air pressure is essential too much and youll wear the center too little and youll wear your edges off faster id say with 33s id run around 28-30 psi you'll wear evenly at about 35psi just make sure and keep them rotated about every 5 thousand.

As was already said it wouldnt effect anything but the speedo (and maybe 100 rpm) However im running taller tires than the stockies, not smaller.

sometimes a slight increase in circumference will increase the fuel mileage but decrease available HS.PWR.
