05+Taco tranny in a 2002!? Can it be done FEASIBLY!?

Me and my crazy ideas... I want to know if I can take a 2005 6speed manual Taco tranny and get the bugger to work in place of the R150F on my 2002 (in sig). I know that what I'm talking about will involve alot of things; but, I'm planning on installing a centerforce this summer and I was thinking along the lines of what can I do while I have the thing apart!?

I'm seriously considering this pending alot of custom fabrication...

Letter'rip fellas - any ideas / comments please!

I dont think you can but if you have the money to try lets see it. If its the tranny from a 4.0 then it wont bolt up to the 3.4 without something being custom. Maybe while your putting in the centerforce you could add a transmission cooler?

i think you can do it. because what Toyota did that no one else does is make 99% of their parts fit their old and new vehicles. if you can use the motor, why not tranny?

Ohio4R: I'm hoping that I wouldn't have to design and build an adapter plate, and totally canabalize my interior... Guess I'll to check with advance adapters.

Belize: While I would love to put a 4.0 in my taco, I don't have a way to get one short of buying one. This whole idea was sparked from my my good friend/mechanic telling me he has a new 05taco+ manual tranny that I could practically have. Did I answer your question correctly?

let's hear some more!

what i ment to get across to you is that if you can put a 4.0 with any 5 spd manual tranny than i would imagine that you can put the tranny from the 4.0 in any toyota with very minor inside modification.
