04 tacoma rides kinda rough
ever since i purchased my tacoma about a year ago, i have felt like the front end kinda rides pretty rough. rough to the point where it kinda has a bump steer condition, like when you hit a bump on the highway it kinda upsets the whole truck. my 93 p/u actually rode nicer on the highway. go figure. its also really noticable after i get out of my 98 runner, that rides great. i have had it on the lift and checked out the front end, and nothing jumped out at me as being loose, broken, wore out, and in fact, to me it drives real tight, so it has me with a big question mark over my head.
anyone else think the era of tacomas around 2004 ride kinda rough?
i really would like to do a set of the adjustable shocks on it to get rid of the front end sag. do you think this will make it better or worse?
2004 tacoma ex cab 4x4, 2.7L, 130,000 miles.
thanks in advance.

I have the same year / model w/58,000 miles. Purchaced new, that has always had the symptoms you describe. Before that I had a '90 X-cab 4X4 that handled road imperfections just fine. The '04 was back to the dealer several times due to what I considerd a dangerous condition especially when cornering. Never did sort it out but was wondering as well if different shocks would help.

I have a 2001 x-cab v-6 4x4 manual trd. I didn't think it was a rough riding vehicle at all. Then again, the TRD had progressive springs up front and that may have something to do with it. My 2000 same as above minus TRD seemed to ride fine as well. May have something to do with the added weight of the v6 as opposed to the 4 cyl. What type tire are you both running? Load rating and the like may also play a part. Just a few things to ponder.
