I was just down at the local Yota Stealership the other day with a friend who was checkin' into buying a new truck (He was using me as a buffer to prevent any rash decisions on his part, he wouldn't admit as such, but I know the truth).
Anyhoo, upon popping the hood, I noticed that the valve cover (as well as the intake runners) appear to have some sorta coating/ gray-ish paint on them. Can anyone confirm this, as I have never seen this on any other 2.7L's (including my own, which happens to be a '96 4x4)?? Does anyone know what it is??

(Or am I just so used to seein' my "beater-ized" Taco that my eyes are just playin' tricks on me??)

 

So, um... nobody here has an '03 or '04 Taco w/ the 3RZ-FE engine??
