04 4wd issues!!!!!

So I get the bright idea to pressure wash the undercarrage of my tacoma the other day... I put the fan on wide and didnt use much pressure incase, I dont know, it might mess something up!!!

Ever since I pressure washed the under side of it the front tires wont lock in when I put it in 4WD. The transfer case is engaging but the front wont pull!!. I checked All the plugs on the transmission, transfer case and the little vaccume line in between the front axles. The fuse is good also. I used the 4WD the day befor I washed it and it worked fine. I have had water up to the nerfs on the truck befor with no problems afterwards. Im sure that the little bit of pressure didnt mess somethin up, or maybe it did???

ANY IDEAS??? Also the light on the dash dosent come on and it has automatic lockin hubs. Thanks in advance!!

Come on guys... Give me somethin??? I have looked, and looked at the same stuff some more and cant find anything out of the ordinary. Im not real familular with the electronic 4WD so I dont really know what to look for in this situation. It gave NO indication that it was going out so my guess is something electrical. Anything to give me a starting point.

U didn't mess anything up. these trucks go underwater. The front diff actuator is troublesome. And its a totally different issue then pressure washing. Your on the right track, keep her clean. I pressure wash the ---- out of mine.

on the front differential itself

And its not auto hubs. Its auto diff. A.D.D
Think they stopped makin auto hubs a while ago.

Try some searching on this, its actually a pretty common problem with the A.D.D. type diffs being stubborn or just not engaging. My 01 likes to be moving to engage. And I've heard others reporting a bad sensor in the diff actuator assembly. And many others to.

As far as problem solving goes its a pain. But the problem is most likely at the diff itself.
Ill check around for ya a bit.

I have looked all over the web and all I can find is issues with the push button 4wd's. Mine aint got no push button its just the shifter in the floor with a auto tranny. Might have helped if I said this earlier...

Ya its the same type of deal. Your shifter on the floor shifts the t-case into 4wd and a sensor in the t-case tells the front diff to engage.

If you grab one of your cv shafts and try to spin it by hand you'll see thats its permanently coupled to the wheel. Theres no hub at all on the 04's. Unless someone installed something aftermarket, but you'd see some sort of hub sticking out of the rim.
