'03 Tacoma door panel removal advice

I don't know what's up with the search, I read that others aren't getting much from it. Even a simple search of "door" only turned up 13 matches. Anyways, does anyone have any advice for getting the front door panels off to access the speakers? I'm ugrading to Kenwood 5x7's all the way around. I successfully did the rear speakers already, if anyone needs help with that let me know. I think the front should be easy, too. but I was surprised to to not find any search results for it. Anyone have advice? Thanks.

are 5x7's the sizes of all the stock speakers (except the tweeters) on most late model tacomas?

According to Crutchfield, yes. I think that there was some 5 1/4" for a while, but with the 6-speaker system they are all 5x7. I used the crutchfield search and it says 5x7 all the way around. Looks like you've got a 4-door, though, so I'd do some checking first.

ewarner,

look in the tech section. hboss has a write up on that. also in my 'sound deadening' write up, i have instructions on how to do that too.

while it might not be exactly like your 03, i doubt that the removal process is any different.

5x7 and 6x8 are the same. good luck! I must say that even with just the rears replaced and stock head unit my sound was MUCH better. I can't wait to have them all upgraded.

Thanks. I still didn't see anything in the yotatech writeups, but I printed out your deadening the doors section from your 4runner site incase it helps.

EDIT: found it in yotatech, too.
