Cool '03 JAOS Center protector, thoughts.

Am curious on everyone's thoughts on the JAOS center protector... I wanted to go with a one piece Manik, but Manik isn't making a one piece guard... I'm not real sure about the Safari-gard Global Extrems bumper deal... I don't want a heavy steel replacement ARB.
I'd like to mount some lights...

Also, anyone with a center protector _or_ JasonB, could I push someone with this ? Does it bolt to the frame or the bumper ?

I like it. I have been wanting to put some lights on the front of mine as well. I am not ahuge fan of all the chrome, so I would really consider one if it were powder coated black.

I think they look great, but are ridiculously overpriced. I just don't understand why Jaos is so friggin expensive.

LSUMatt1514,
I agree... But, it's like dating. Your going to get screwed to get screwed.

I used to pick on the "bling bling" crowd... Until the other day when my friend with a Lincoln LS V8 was showing me his new ground effects, rims, and MP5-SD and a bunch of girls walk up and go "Hey nice car, who's is it ?"

Bling ain't bad if it doesn't involve gold rims, gold teeth, and cheap pistols. I just wana know if I can shove someone with the JAOS Center Protector... After all, if price was a reason, I would have bought a Rodeo. <GMAO>

It looks good but I don't know I just don't like all that chrome, maybe if it came in a black powder coat but I do like the look of chrome grille guards on 3rd Gen 4Runners, maybe it has to grow on me, when is the ARB or TJM gonna come out you can push people with thise

Hey, people laugh, but it is a real concern if I can shove someone or not. If you look at the pic I posted, I looks as though the JAOS is attached or riding on the bumper.
You never know when you may need to shove someone, why do you think all those Police cars have those center bars on them ?

I would like it more if it were brushed steel/aluminum or powder coated black as stated by momo and edge. I do like it much better than a full brush guard though, and I would consider getting one for myself if it weren't for the finish. Looks very good with lights mounted also, but then there's the Joas Lamp Stay if that's all you want it for...

That looks good, but if you want to push people, wait for TJM or ARB to get theirs to the market.

I like the chrome on lighter colored rigs... white, silver, dune, whatever. But I don't care for it on darker rigs... just mo.

Have you looked at the WAAG products? Their product bolts to the frame with a claimed install time in less than 30 minutes. They have chrome, black and matte black finishes.

It's because they are chromed. if they were powder coated like momo wants they'd be a bit cheapa.

yea, and then you could not only "push" them, but you could also "pull" them with the winch you could mount on a TJM or ARB.

Jaos guards are actually T-304 stainless steel, so they will never rust/peel like most chromed guards.

J:

This bumper guard from WAAG will hold your lights and provide front protection. It can bolt on the frame easily, no drilling.

"Brush" guards are not for pushing other vehicles, plain and simple. And in nearly every case, they end up causing more damage in low-speed accidents than if there was nothing there.

I like the looks of the Jaos
The waag is just ugly and it looks pretty weak!
