02 4Runner T-case vent or breather

So I couldn't remember if I had posted this before but where is the the t-case breather located. Is is piped somewhere or does it sit on top? I need to find it clean it, perhaps even extend it. I was having t-case leaking problems since June of 07 and every time I pull the plug to add some fluid I get some light back pressure air venting out to me when I pull the plug.

I thought it was extended (from the factory) and sits in the engine bay (driver's side, close to the firewall, I believe). Front diff is up there, too.
