Hi all, I bought a 2001 runner 4x4 with the blinking 4x4 lights of death :/ My boyfriend and I have been trying to find and fix the issue but nothing has worked. We checked the fuse, replaced both actuators, did a fluid change, checked that all of the sensors work, tried disconnecting the battery, replaced the center diff lock button (had a code for open circuit on diff, thought that might be the issue), and maybe more but I cannot think of them at the moment. It basically seems we have replaced or tested almost every part of the 4wd system. What we assume is left is the 4wd computer although we took it out and it looked fine or maybe a wire somewhere not connected. Does anyone have any suggestions? We have read about every post online about 3rd gen 4wd issues and cannot seem to figure out what it is. Also to note, every time you start the car the 4wd lights blink (all 5). When you speed up to 62 mph you could press the 4wd button, it would beep, push the button again lights will turn off. After replacing the front diff actuator this stopped happening, maybe we got a bad new front diff? not sure but if anyone has an ideas to help that would be great!! Thank yall
