Update

I got the rear axle back together yesterday. The breaks are bled, new inner and outer seals, brake shoes, brake drums, new bearings and retainers. I also switched to synthetic blend 80w90 gear oil. Glad to have it back on the road. Sorry, no pics. I misplaced the camera the other day. I am sooo ready for the maiden wheeling voyage.

I have the brakes all straightened out, the rears needed adjustment. Its ready for its maiden voyage. I hate to admit defeat but my CB WAS in the way. The window crank wouldn't go past it, I just have to move it furtrher down the speaker grille so its out of the way. My buddies and I are planning an outing for Memorial Day weekend up to Bill Moore Lake, one of the higher mid rated trails in Colorado. I will have tons of pics. Hopefully there will be more mods to come before that trip.

Its been a while. I ordered an EGR delete kit from LCE on Friday. It will be here tomorrow, and will be going on ASAP. Other than that I havn't done much to it. I am looking for a header and a Weber for it. I am ordering some Kenwood speakers tonight. 6x9s for behind the seats and 4 inch rounds for the dash. I can't wait.

Here is the new stereo deck, and speakers I just added. The deck is new, its just very dusty from the dirt road I live on.

The speakers in the boxes are not the new ones, I still have to wire them up.

Memorial Day Weekend outing location has changed. Instead of going to Bill More Lake, we are going down to Granite. Which is between Leadville and Buena Vista. Lots of trails, awesome camping spot, and about 10 friends to share it with. OO RAH!

Well, nothing more done to the truck except a power steering fluid top off, pffft. I ran out of funds for a while. I did manage to conquer the dirt hill behing our shop though.

It proved to be a relativly easy task once I got the line right. Sittin almost stock, it has horrible flex. I will be taking care of that soon though. I also have a line on five 31 10.50 15 BFG AT's with Chevy Rally rims for a total price of $300. I dont think thats too bad of a deal, I just need to do the ball joints before I put them on. The fronts are wearing in odd places.

I got my new speaker box built. With the new speakers installed. I still have to finish the top and bottom, but nonetheless it still sounds good.

I also think I may hace figured out what the grinding noise is, not the brakes. The rear diffy was about 1.5 quarts low, looked watered down, and was pretty sludgy. I didn't check it before I drove it any where, I feel like a dumb a$$.

Ammo cans are great arent they? Our 85 PU has the Mini Gun cans in the back. They are like 24"x24"x12" I think. great for tow straps, tire chains and stretchers, tire irons, and other stuff that needn't be just floating around the bed of the truck. My 87 will be getting them soon as I get shmo munny.

I get mine from a buddy at the gun shows. If you have any bigger sized gun shows around you, army surplus. Depending on how close you are to Lewis, you might be able to get some ther too.
