Well you just bought it. What should you do with a vehicle when you first buy it? Make sure all maintenance has been done. I would change the fluids. Oil change, diff, check the radiator, etc etc. tune ups are always good. plugs, cap, rotor, wires, coil, timing belt, water pump. check the radiator for leaks.
Once you're confident that its going to last, then you can start dumping money into it. What're you looking for? a straight up crawler? a DD/weekend warrior? expedition vehicle? or just a DD?

ive done all that and so far ive replaced the doors and fenders with rust free ones, the truck is gonna be my daily driver as its the only veichle i have but its gonna be like my weekend warrior as well to go out and rip around logging roads and nothing super serious , i know a sas would not be necisary for me but i could still make other mods to my truck

Great find, Rob! Looks really nice, and the interior isn't rotted and home to many rodents, etc., etc., ! lol.
If you're asking "What mods"??? Wow, that's a loaded topic, lol... if a few more dudes pop in here, and that IS what you're asking? IT'S ON! lol.
Personally, if 'NOTHING SERIOUS' in the wheeling dept, but still wanting to have fun with her.... I'd go :
1. Locker in rear(for now)
2. Tires if needed, can't see how good the tread is on those(MT or AT REALLY depends on how crazy you plan to go when wheeling), sticking with 31-32"s....(since it's nothing TOO serious)
3. Bumpers front and rear to protect when you DO go a lil crazy(and Sliders if you wanna do a lil creepy crawlin and DON'T wanna smash in those new doors you got)
4. MAYBE, if you feel you need it, and can't fit things or get over things you're trying.... a mild lift, 2-2.5" WITHOUT BLOCKS! lol.
I mean, it sounds like you wanna keep it practical without spending THOUSANDS of dollars....and these are ALL things you can 'take with you' if you switch to another one some day, etc., ya know? Rather than trying to beef up a 3.0, etc., which is not really a popular choice with these, USUALLY(some have and are happy they have.... Most just go to 3.4 swaps)....rather than going crazy with the motor, JUST MAINTAIN IT WELL, as suggested, and add some goodies that will actually improve your wheeling experience. Honestly? A locker in the rear will get you a lot further than a 3" lift and 33's... Sliders will keep you from smashing in the doors, a mild lift like that will give you an opportunity to refresh your 'ride quality' a lil(if you choose the right lift, that is) while you increase your travel a LIL bit.
Just some thoughts

PSS> Ian.... first thing I thought of too, 'CONSOLE' hahaha. I LOVE mine, which I put in 2" higher of padding and a new cover! CUSH on long trips! lol

Hello everyone its been a long time since i updated this build of mine and since the last update ive gone poor from work to it haha, i rebuilt the front end, rebuilt cvs, ball joints, etc etc, put in all new brakes, replaced all four shocks (solved back end sag), did some costume work inside the cab(will get photos later today), put in parking break cables, tinted taillights, did a paint job, added a rock guard strip down the body, umm in the midst of building front and rear bumpers at my welding course, overall there must be more done i just cant think of it, did all fluids as well, pulled all dents, got rid of all rust, lost of body work with bondo and sandign for days to get ready from paint, anyways heres some pics for teasers in the mean time

4.56 should be just fine for 33s and road driving. I hear 4.88 is good but i also hear there hard to find lockers for(dont quote me on that) Also in my opinion u should always lock the front before u lock the rear. Also check the junk yard for a toyota with manual lock in hubs, can get a set for $50 and it takes under an hour to change them both. Hope this help, keep up the good work

4.88's are easy to find. everyone sells them. to keep the speedometer accurate, here's the list of gears & tire sizes:
29"= 4.10 (stock)
31"= 4.30
32"= 4.56
33"= 4.88
35"= 5.29
4.88's will match stock feel much better than 4.56's when running 33's.
and lockers will accept any gear ratio. here:
