Got a slight issue after wheeling this weekend, I think I tweaked my pitman and relay rod. Steering wheel is not long straight and is 90* off again. lol. Doesn't pull any different then before but I have a non-matching spare as well on the left side. So I don't know if the slightly larger tire is causing it or not, but with a quick look this morning it appears the pitman and relay rod is tweaked. Pitman under warranty and relay rod, well........
pics forthcoming maybe. I am a drench rat right now as we got 3' rain yesterday, perfect for wheeling and testing out my mud tires. haha.
No pics of wheeling though. Sorry, between the rain and also lets just say I didn't want to take pics, but I was out with all jeeps, mostly on 33's and some on 35's. Held my own.

ok took some photos of the pitman and stuff. I don't see anything obviously wrong with this especially when comparing it with the idler arm side. Other then the tie rods look like they might need to be replaced, but when moving the wheel there is very little play in the relay rod indicating mostly tight joints. What I am thinking if anything that the pitman and relay rod is tilted back further then it should be. like this in the photos " \ " But that same " \ " appears to be the same angle as the idler arm side. You can also see in the last two photos both sides are pretty much equal when it comes to distance to the steering stops.
Wheel does not appear to be damaged and either is the tire, I already took that off the wheel cleaned it off and remounted it back on the truck. Still haven't gotten the chance to test drive it though.

lol.
Got a chance to drive he a bit. Steering wheel wasn't straight as I was hoping so the issue wasn't a different tire size. So temporarily once again I recentered the steeringwheel as I have done before in the past back to straight at the gearbox. Wheels do look like they are slightly toed out on each side, but not sure if it was like that before or not, also the camber is off as well which it was before since the t-bar crank. I'll be fine for now till I get new inner/outer tie rods, replace that pitman under warrenty (again) and maybe grab a relay rod from the JY. I just got to be careful which years I grab that rod from since the 89-95 trucks were recalled.

Why do I get the feeling I am dealing with someone that has no clue on how this product works, how to install it or what is involved with when it comes to a weber and a 22r?
P.S. Read it from the bottom up.

Hey Brandon
Interesting thing, the steering linkage/shaft////whatever/ steering wheel alignment thingy....
I hope I didn't miss something,.... when I ask, is it possible that the worm shaft, upon taking a good blow while wheeling, didn't back up to a different notch? Is it possible that it just wasn't tight enough?(Can't remember the torque value of that.....but just curious if it's possible). I ask because, when I adjusted mine, just two teeth on the gear moves the wheel quite dramatically. I suppose a 'bend' could cause something like that as well, but more likely a 'shift' of a few teeth on the aligner/tightener would be a cause, .....IF it's NOT the rod ends, etc.

if your talking pitman/gearbox connection, doubt it. If your talking gearbox/steering shaft connection maybe. I have trolled back through this thread to see where it was sitting before hand. I doubt I even have a photo of that connection when I changed the gearbox out. But remember at one point this steering wheel was off when I did the power steering swap and I fixed it the same way as I did this time.
Funny thing the girlfriend told me was maybe whatever you hit put the steering wheel back to where it was supposed to be when you did the powersteering swap and it "fixed it". lol.

Ahhhh, maybe I'm missing where you said, "I fixed it"... sorry.
Yeah, I'm speaking of the worm shaft to steering column, where it's joined by the pivoting clamp-thingymadoerhicky! lol. VERY sensitive... if you didn't tighten it to 29# or whatever it was(I think that's right, off the top of my head).... then maybe it just wasn't tight enough.... You know, not loose enough to just spin in there, but not tight enough to avoid a tough jarring-slide to another spot, ya know?

so if I hit you real hard with a bat, you think that might "fix" you too?

2nd place mudbog. 63 ft 7 inches. Beat 3rd place truck by 2-3inches. 1st place got 70 ish feet.

My competitors. 4 in the 4cyl stock class. All on 35's except me on 33's. Winner was on the best tires. 35 x 14.50 Boggers. 3 of us got trophies All were Toyotas, 4th odd man out was a pretty much a stock Comanche with fender wells cut to fit 35's. We were not about to let him take a trophy from the 3 other Yota guys.

Convoy down there. 2 trailered trucks, one on a rollback, 2 street driven and a cavalier.

I didn't take many pictures this time as most were the same trucks as the other two I have posted up on here. But did take one that was new. This thing has one badarse engine in it. 8 lug front axle 5 lug rear axle, not sure which ones. Driver wasn't around when photo was taken. He eventually took 3rd place in the v8 mod class.

After my first run of 45 ish feet.

After my second run of 63 feet 7 inches.

I only took two videos of one of the Cherokee's which is the one on the rollback going down there that I had helped put a front axle under. Hopefully someone got video of me.

Very good, congrats. I like that paint job the best out of all the concepts you posted! It seems to be quite textured like heavy duty bedliner stuff , should give some extra protection on the trails.

Yeah I know, you'd be surprised on how well it sticks. And it dries just about as hard as a rock.
