those are 12.5's so that's probably the narrowest rim you can go with anyways. i would think that a wider rim would allow the bead to pop off much easier.

hey...read Joe's thread if you get 10 minutes. but I' was asking you if you had a flare wrench for the tranny line to the slave cylinder

I'll bump this from time to time tomorrow and Thursday.

Title: 87 Toyota
Description: Not just a mall crawler or a dedicated mud truck. This truck is a daily driver, bogger, crawler and hauler. A true 4x4. Built not bought. Brought back from the dead twice. Blown engine and busted frame and is still beat on on a daily basis, Not just driven on the street to look good or to be a trailer queen to and from mudbogs or trail rides. That is a real 4x4.

RBX, Ian radiator is washed off. Haven't driven it much to tell if it worked or not temp wise. Brakes are still a little odd even with new shoes/pads, but I do have my ebrake back. Oh and frame is good.

good i guess, haven't driven it much, did a very minute amount of wheeling this past weekend just to get to/from camp I setup at the Giant's Despair hill climb. They seemed ok, but catch a little low on the pedal for me. Not nearly as bad as they were, I don't get it though, the old pads and shoes didn't look all that wore to tell you the truth. Beginning to think this new T-100 master cyl is on it's way out. GD autozone parts. lol.

hey.

we were pretty much focused on Joe's truck all day last week.......but what's the verdict on your's. are you gonna end up doing BJ spacers or no? do you even need to? I kinda want to do the same setup as yours and I am curious.....with the exception of I want to do the 33x10.5's instead....though the 12.5's are much easier to find and not totally out of the question. I'm thinking that if I just end up buying longer shackles I could imitate what you did.

I am still gonna go with BJ spacers, if not for lift just to soften up the front and re-gain my droop travel back.

BJ spacers and longer shackles out back should work ok for ya since your rear springs aren't flat (yet). But can't say for sure since yours is a completely different body style and has a normal bed on it.

xxxtreme, I've got a question for ya. IIRC, you're running Pro Comp ES3000s on your rig. My question is: do you remember the part numbers for the front and rear shocks you ordered? I will be ordering a set soon, and I want to make sure they fit. My notes say that I should use EXP-314014 for the front and EXP-321506 for the rear (don't remember where I found those numbers), but when I plug those numbers into Summit, it says the latter is designed for the front of Dodge trucks, not the rear of Toyota trucks. Are these the same numbers you used, and if not, what did you use?

The ones I have are for stock ride height. No longer running the ones in the back. IMO you don't wanna run the stock height procomps, I always felt they were too short on the extended length. Unless it's a street only rig. I did like how they rode though. And mild trail riding they felt really good too even at higher speeds. But for someone who's gonna be flexin out their suspension, I don't recommend them. I got my set of 4 from topguncustomz. Since they only list the es1000 part numbers and then give you the option of paying extra for the es3000 upgrade, I don't know the part numbers they sent me.

Thanks man! I'll look into TGC.

If you didn't like Pro Comps in the rear, what are you running now?

I've been reading this thread off and on since I first found this crazy Yotatech site, but never actually had anything to add. Still don't except to say really like the thread, love the truck box, and I can feel your pain when it comes to rust. I put a new muffler on my daily driver when I safetied it I think 3 years ago and it's already rusted through. Cheers!

Thanks for checking in Dutchbelly.

Zelephant the Procomps I had in the rear wouldn't have worked with the springs I changed out to 2-3" lift. So I did some measuring and ended up just for the time being and need for shock before the 2011 EC4RJ I am currently running a cheapo set of monroes in the back meant for a dodge 2500. A few pages back is the part number, but I caution people on using them as I measured and bought the shocks 2 weeks later and got the measurements somewhat wrong for my setup and they are extremely close to bottoming out on the compression stroke.

Once I unload my OME's for the rear, I think I'll be looking at a couple sales to replace my Rancho RS5000's I have in the rear.... They're in great shape, but they're just too stiff, period. Plus, they were for a (not sure how much lifted) lifted 85 Long Bed 4WD toy.... Not sure it would make much difference, but even with my Zuk's, they seem to really TAKE the bumps fine but come down a lil rough, ya know? lol. Eh,....everyone has told me they are stiff.... but they were free, ya know what I mean? hahaha.

This is interesting, remember that guy who did my frame and I haven't heard back from him regarding those photos he promised me? Tried several times with PM through RC forums, well, I wonder if there is any truth to this.... I took screen shot just in case the "ads" were flagged.

However, can't really complain about the service he gave me as he didn't charge me extra on top of what he quoted, so I wouldn't say exactly he screwed me etc etc...

EDIT: out of curiosity...... I checked his RC forum profile. Notice last active time/date. Doesn't look like he's hiding out too much, maybe just ignoring me as well as some others?
