dang, if I knew that I woulda kept those 235's on those two wheels for now. lol. oh well, either way those 31's have to come off the wagons.

FOr those that are confused, I have two sets of wheels, 4 wagons ( that wil eventually have 33's on them) and 4 6 spokes.

2 of the 6 spokes have 31's on them already. Which means I have to get 2 of the 31's that ae mounted on the wagons off and put them on my other 2 6 spokes to get down to Jerry's. The I have to mount 3 of the 4 33's on the free wagons. I already have 1 wagon with a 33's mounted on it.

Just so I'm clear on this...

You are going to be running 31's most of the time and the 33's just when wheelin? Am I getting this right?

no, 33's are staying on for DD and trails. the 31's I have will not pass inspection which is why I got the tires in the first place.

But I have to drive down to Jerry's on 31's the 33's will not clear as of right now without hacking at the bed or the fenders.

Jerry just doesn't want to be messing around with tires on saturday.

Crisis averted, Jerry did have a full set of stockers (235's) didn't realize that, I thought he only had 2. So gonna drive down to his house with 235's on it.

for those of you keeping score at home:

drove there with 6 round black rubber things in the back of my truck, 2 of them were 31's loos, 4 were my stock tires on stock rims......after some deliberation and discussion, an epiphany was had by XXXTREME and he accepted my 4 mounted stockers to wear up until sometime saturday when the permanent switch is made.

so, i left there with my 2 31's ( still unclear if he needs them, ever or not) but since i have more room to store stuff, i had no problem bringing them back home.

i also brought one mounted 33 home with me and the 2 leaf springs.....which, i swear, i will not paint.

so that's the current standing.

he will mount my tires on his truck so that all we have to do saturday is the big stuff and not be messing with the whole tire caper.

OHHHH, and Jerry, you got the rubber tire thing sussed, ....great! But, have you made sure he brings his favorite rubber friend? He might just get moody and turn around if he forgets him!

Why are they fail, B? Just curious, ......is it cuz they don't have enough tread? IOW< do they measure the tread depth?

the centers of those bad ones are right at 2/32. Which is the minimum.

the borderline ones are more like 4-5/32. They will measure if they look off.

In the photo of all 4 the bad ones are on the outsides. The "good" ones are in the middle. You can almost see how cupped the bad ones are like they were run with too much pressure or on a 6" wheel.
