So some of you will be happy to know that I backed out of selling the 4runner. I figure Med bills can wait. :-) I just sent in payment for more parts for the sas. Have the front hanger. Ubolt flip kit and IFS plates on the way. Getting more excited every day. Pics will come when I have more than my phone to work from. ( computer is shot)

 

So my computer is still down. Sucks using a phone to type all of this. I have all of my sas stuff (excluding spacers) and my grand total is ....... $887.50 !!!!! I am extremely happy. My price list goes like this.

I still need tires and a few other small things. But I think I did pretty good keeping this a budget build. ( so far) next will be installing everything.

very nice!!! is this a 5 speed or auto? love th chop, shoulda domne this too the one 4runner i almost bought, was scared if that 3.ohh though

 

It's a 5 speed 3.0 Im gonna run the v6 until it blows then do a swap. Woul like Either a 2jz or a 4bt diesel.

 

2jz would be an awesome swao, figured out the rear lift yet???

 

Yeah. Going with Chevy's for now.

 

So I bought the rear kit for chevs but decided to sty with coils. I installed some 2" ironman fj coils along with extending the links: 2" lower 2.25" upper.



Rear sits low due to all the IFS crap in the back. Should sit pretty level.

Ohh btw. I'm officially at the $6k mark on this ride (excluding time and labor). Still think I'm doing pretty good.

Ok so I am going to Chop my 87 before too much longer. I have pretty much no experience with metal work though and the military isn't the kind of job that pays tons So I was hoping you could offer some pointers, tools that might be helpful, etc. The top of mine if fiberglass so I just have to weld the tailgate in place. and the rest is fiberglass work. Awesome build man, I am loving it, very inspirational.

Your rig is BAD@$$!! Im think of looking for a 4Runner after I get my truck back together, just have to convince the wife lol She will prob say I need to decide between either a Diesel 3/4ton or a Runner. Seeing yours makes me think a 2nd gen 4 door would be good for fun, escpecially with the dogs. Just saw a chopped one on craigslist. THougt for a second it was yours but im in Colorado lol Heres the link. It looks good but yours is alot nice and cleaner.
