This is the $325 wonder I'm starting with. 87 SR5, 22RE, 5 speed, decent 31" tires.
Runs, drives, and the 4x4 works. So far I've fixed the passenger door so it opens from inside and out, checked lights, and pulled the front tires off to peek at the brakes. Brakes looked like almost new pads and there doesn't seem to be any slack in the front end. So far so good.
Next I started scraping some of the rust holes in the box sides to see how bad they are. About as bad as they look, but the inner box seems to be in pretty good shape. Also poked at the frame a bit. Bad news, really punky along the bottom from the cab to the spring mounts, so I guess the box is coming off to fix it.
SWMBO says it can't be lawn art.
