safarijim's 1990 4runner Build-Up Thread

so gimme some input guys and tell me what you think. i got this beast for 300 bucks. so far i chopped the top, bobbed the bed, and made some half doors. soon i'll be adding a v8, doing a front end dovetail, sas, and 38" swampers..and someday maybe a exo cage...so if theres anyone around the olympia wa area with a bender and knowledge...lets get it rollin!https://www.yotatech.com/attachment....1&d=1251760096

well i scored some tires! 36" humvee military oz tires. got 7 of them for 90 bucks..all of them basically new! what a freakin deal. also got a friend with a jeep wagoneer dana 44 axle i can use for my front end..has a 60" wheel mounting surface to surface. anyone know how that axle would work as far as the width? not sure of toyota axle width..or what mods i would have to do for the steering or spring mounts..help or suggestions on that would be helpful. i can take the axle off his hands for 100 bucks...then i just need to buy the sas kit...just starting with the spring hanger junk

Got alot of homework it looks like but looks cool good luck with it.. oh and a 4.3 wouldnt be a bad idea to look into either instead of its bigger bro V8. you could run yota axles and tranny with it no prob and have plenty of power. the V8's are very heavy and lots more mods and stonger componets are neccasary. =$$$
