no that's cool, I was thinking doing the same, but I blow the 22R so I found a 85 SAS and just change the body and now putting in a V6 4.3.

anyway, good luck with the truck

Ordered the 6" shackles from Wabfab.com. By guesstamating. Shackles should give me about 3 inches + AAL is 1.5, grand total of 4.5 inches in the rear. 4" bracket lift with 1.5" BJ spacer in the front with flat CV's should be perfectly level. IMO. Dang, I'll just have to wait and see.

Nice looking truck!
Keep in mind, if you are replacing the factory 3" shackles with 6" shackles, you will gain 1.5" of lift. For every inch longer that the new shackle is you gain .5" of lift. So with the AAL you should net around 3" of rear lift total.

Hmm. I obviously misunderstood that part. I thought since my stock shackles are 3". If I ordered the 6" shackles that would give me 3 additional inches on top of the stock 3 inches. You see what I mean? Oh well, if your right, which i dont doubt, since you've probably got experience on these shackles. I don't mind lifting the rear a total of 3". That means I can come down a lot on the front and have flat cv angles again.

Check this out Rob, 4crawler explains it better than I ever could. http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/ForSale/Shackles.shtml#FAQ4

You could still run a modest 1" block to level out the rear if you want to keep the height that you have in front. Sweet truck BTW. I really like that color!

I skimmed through that once before but damn.. I quickly found myself scratching my head again this time. I'll just throw those shackles on and run it with whatever mystery height I get. It's cool. Im really looking forward to some Chevy springs in the rear. This shall be temporary. I'll keep you all updated on the shackle install.

Just installed the rear shackle lift.

Before. Measured from top of rim.

After. Measured from top of rim.

Looks like i gained 2 inches of lift. Not bad and super easy install. I didn't get a pic of the shackle angle but it's pretty much a 45 degree angle ( \ ).
