Rear leaf spring bushing
I am in the middle of a build on an 87 4runner. I am reusing the rear stock springs from the 4runner and need to put a new bushings at the shackle end. In stock form they have a rubber busing with no inner steel casing to run the bolt through. I made new shackles so the old 3/4 dia hole these bushing have can not be used. Has anyone found the correct bushing to fit these springs. Plenty of folks have reused these springs so i figure somebody else has had this issue.
Thanks

Well, how big did you make the holes in the shackles? Could you just drill them out to 18 mm, or do you want to have a metal sleeve in there? if your holes in the homemade shackles are about 9/16" then you could always use the bushings for the front spring eye, which I believe use a 14mm bolt instead of the 18mm used in 1st gen. Fairly sure the outside diameter is the same for the spring eyes.
By the way, you could probably get better/more responses if you posted this in the Tech section instead of the Build section. If you ask the moderators, they could maybe move it there for you so you could get a more definitive answer than I can give.
