The plan is to make this vehicle agnostic, I plan to make a second one as soon as the prototype is finished.
The screen will have the data all the time with the backup camera on all the time also. I can't see out of my rear view as it is, so I don't mind having the rear view up all the time. The monitor has two camera inputs, so I have a second camera going on the front also, mainly for parking.

No idea what it costs in comparison to the swaps. There are certainly cheaper engines I could have used. I have $3k in engine, wire harness and transmission parts. I got a smoking deal, really got lucky I found a stand up guy who is true to his word. Other non toyota swaps require adapters which is another added cost. This won't require any adapters just moving engine mounts and transmission mounts. The electrical will be the biggest part of this swap. I'll build an engine jig to mount the motor and start it out of the truck before it's transplanted to hopefully avoid some unnecessary down time of the rig.

Was the complete harness, engine and transmission all pulled from the same Australian vehicle? This has sparked my interest very much. My 22R is high mileage, and I have a feeling that fixing the timing chain, waterpump, and head. The bottoms going to go...I'm sick of dumping money into my engine that I know won't make me happy. Can't wait for the install a good write-up on the swap.

Matt - you should start a build thread so we can provide you guidance over there. I should have listened to people giving advice during my first build... get the truck running and reliable, then start with the mods later. You will find that you will never get the truck running to use those mods until you work out all of the bugs. For example... I won't do my LT kit because I still haven't installed my front gears... so I can't even go into 4x4.... Prioritize your needs then once you've finished those... then tackle those wants (Blazeland LT).
I did start one, but it's kind of hard to update the build thread until I actually get the vehicle to my house.
Now that the weather has turned sub freezing I don't have a lot of incentive to get it home anytime soon. I've been reading as much as possible and trying to figure out a game plan when do I start to tackle everything. Glad to see that are such knowledgeable members so close to me.

All parts were pulled from the same vehicle. With all the electricals for this engine it's critical to have all ancillary devices pulled from the same vehicle due to how toyota communications from the ecu are programmed. It's not impossible to piece it from different vehicles but you may need a European toyota scan tool to calibrate the sensors and computers.

Was in Hedgesville, WV for the weekend at a cabin. 36" of white stuff. Never had the Runner in snow that deep before, and I've never been witness to so much accumulation in such a small amount of time. Truck did pretty good as long as the snow was less then 30", after that the bow wave of snow was up to the top of the bumper and created too much resistance.
The pic above that shows the driveway has been cleared by a local snowblower dude, but he only cleared the driveway. The plows the night before gave up after they cleared only 6", so the roads are untouched...actually was pretty cool being the only vehicle driving around the neighborhood.
