Yeah, i guess we are weird that way because we love the tubes! And especially the stinger! Had a similar setup on the old jeep too.

Got the LED turns attached and installed her "winch buddy" to ward off any evil "winch gremlins" that may try and ruin a good pull....

Started raining today so cant install the rack or paint prep....Not having garage space sucks...

Happy birthday to ME! You know when you have one of those days when things just go RIGHT for a change?

So, when we bought the truck, the gal says the rear window just "quit working last week."...so, i am searching threads on here about the relay and other fixes. thinking "man i hate electrical work..."

As i am putting the rear wheels back on after spraying the drums black again (they did them red?....?....), I see this bundle of wires hanging down from the drivers rear. All are intact except for 2 small wires that have been cut a long time ago judging from the looks of them.
"hmmm....i wonder where these go and what happens when i connect them again...?... What the? is the rear window now going up and down?! Score!"

(this kind of stuff never happens to me. It is usually the worst case scenario, not a simple wire being cut)

Wired up properly and now i can access the back without crawling on my hands and knees over the dog.

Wife says -"good, now go get me some wood to build me that kitchen island you have been talking about for sometime."

*sigh*

Question - How long should i have hid this newly discovered fact?

^^^^ Until you need to vent the rig of summer heat or, at least, until you were in the mood to build the island.

BTW, happy D-Day!

Got a delivery from Mr UPS today .....

Roof Rack! no more cramming the spare in the rear with the dog.

Silver? Bleh....flat black is better

Waitin on the paint to dry, then we'll mount her.

Also got an old Hi-lift mounted that i had from the last Wrangler -

Oh, I hate Chrome, too.....Bling is blah

so, the current look (minus the newly painted rack)

She's liking the "new" runner so far....

More to come -

"Is this truck REALLY mine?"

This is what she asked me as i stole the keys this morning and took it to work...Well, i had to go way up the pass to emigrant gap to work on some plumbing at the cabin...Some snow and fire roads made for a good excuse....
Ok, so maybe a small part of me says 'what's mine is hers and what's hers is also hers but maybe mine too...

(ah, i kid. she's great and lets me take it whenever i want!....if she says its ok.)

So, got to see a little dirt/snow(?) today...

Got to play with the new toy....

Got home with time to spare so got the rack installed and adventure goodies in place!

And installed some REAL bling!

So, now we get to go relax at the cabin for the weekend.

Future mods planned so far -
Need to get these rims flat black...

Paint - going to Herculiner the bottom panels and do the top flat gray when the weather allows

Horn - Still have this annoying La Cucaracha Horn left over from a joke...thinking this would be perfect to piss the neighbors off!

Leftover parts - These square tube bars came with the rack. Dont need them, about 4 foot long each. Anyone need some?

Also have a roller lead not using. Anyone?

Getting closer to her rendering....

IMO you should leave the rims as they are... a little bling to pick out the "bland" [for want of a better word]... I think the cockroach horn is a great idea!... seems a shame to loose the nice clean garnet red paint job... but as I always say whatever floats your waterwings...

I never did like red heads....

the red is fair, fading in spots and the hood was done with a barn paint or something, not my favorite but it does kind of grow on me when i look at it from different angles. It is good to scratch and beat up on.
I have always dug the herculiner look and am doing that for sure. The gray will come someday in the future when i am bored.

Storms look to be on their way out finally and it is in the 70's today. Sweet.

One last Play time in the snow ....

Got about 3-4 feet in 48 hours.
The dog had a great time!

So after the romping around, gave her a good wash and noticed the scratches, dings, and corrosion from the roads up there as we have been doing alot of high country snow trips.
Good time as ever to Herculine the sumbeetch!

Started out just going to Line-x the wheel wells and rockers. Well, after i started looking at the spray pattern from the wheels, i got a little carried away...."Eh, screw it, lets keep going and see where this ends up....
Still drying but i like the Line-x look! Would do the whole damn thing if i had more on hand. (i am really bored today)

So far into this for about $110 with 1/3 of a gallon left over...maybe for the Dodge's nerf bars later...

Did the Mirrors too as rocks were constantly chipping the paint away

Still have leftover??? Hmmm...Well the Diesel is getting a new Reunel Bumper set-up next week, might as well do the grill too -

See what happens when i get bored?
