ok hey guys... I am michael ... i have been bit by this toyota bug.. ahahah

Ill be 17 in a month...... ok i am doing this thread .. instead of having like 3 different ones just one big one for my "Toyota adventures"

I started out this winter .. sold my dakota... bought a toyota pick up an 85

for 1250.. it had 31s on it and sweet bumpers... but frame rusted out beyond my abilitiy to fix.... and was just sucking at my wallet!

so I saw this toyota .. .for sale when cruising on the highway... so i called the guy .. he parts out and builds offroading rigs and uses toyota trucks for his base to start...and samurai's

the toyota he had for sale head bad bearings on the lower end.. so i traded mine for it and 300 bucks... but i got to keep my bumpers, exaust, radio, and tool box
pretty much 300 dollars in parts...

i had to trailer it home.... then we where deciding whether or not to fix the engine or get a different one.. so we got a different one.. i got an engine for
$150 only 95,000 on it.... we swapped it out... while timing it the 3rd pully on the crank shaft flew off... and busted the fan up ... the other owner of the engine just put some spot welds on the pulley and well they didnt hold, we thought the pulley was attached to the 2 pulleys that are just one big set up.. well was wrong!... so we look all over for a new fan.. couldnt fined one a junk yard 2hrs away had one for 30 bucks... that would cost 70 after drivign to get it... and my trucks heater fan went out...

so i remembered where there was an old Toyota sitting with no bed on it....
drove down there .. asked the guy if he wanted to sell it ... he was like well i was gonna haul it to scrap... I told him well ill give u 125 for it .. he took it i drove it home.. and the engine ran AWESOME!! it runs better then my 88 .. the 125 dollar one is an 84.... so i got a hole truck the front grill on it was perfect switched it on to my daily driver..including the fan and fan clutch and heater fan.. like 100 bucks of parts .. an i only pad 125 for the truck.. ahahaaha

so now i have a blue 88 toyota 22re for my daily drive and an 84 to beat on out in a field.. and steel parts off of ... i might part it out or take it t rough truck challenge ..... not sure ...

right by the driver door and seat belt it isnt in the way and fit perfect better then cutting into the dash!

that my daily driver truck the blue one... she would look good wit hmy other bumpers on her and 31s .. i want to put 31s on it in the future.. and clean my other pumpers up to put on there they are smittybuilt


then here is my 125 dollar investment of awesomeness !!!



that one is interesting for an 84 it has powersteering .. intemitted wipers...and a tilt steering wheel .. i took the fan , heater fan, and grille off of it.. and put them in my 88


well this is the start of my adventures... I want to geta toyota camper and turn it into a 4x4... and a mild lift.. and a 4runner too ...
I might save that 84 just to do that with .. i no where a toyota camper is sitting too!! future project...ahahha

 

hey guys..

well after putting my other engine in and driving around for 2weeks... it had a lifter nock and now something def went out on it ... the guy who got me the engine bought it.. but the engine sat under a leanto for a year with no plugs or covering up the intake holes...

so i tore the other engine my parts one apart took the head off and stuff and painted my valve cover.... bright red I will have pics of it up soon ..... with the parts from my other engine I hope to fix the one in my truck... if not we are going to put the 22r in the truck...
