Fakes 88 4runner build-up thread.

Hi all,

I picked this beauty up in October of 2010. When i first got the thing it poured oil out of the valve cover, and thats about it. After the valve cover gasket replacement it was set on a trip out west, the engine to my knowledge is still running on the original miles with 227000, (kind of scared me becuase i have heard about the head gasket trouble the 3.0s had) atleast thats what the kid i bought it from had told me.

I trailed her own home and looked just like this

With intentions of not really doing much to the truck because it replaced my other car that got totaled (miss the ol integra) which was my DD. I come to realize that I am very happy with my purchase, because I was looking at a few Jeeps before my heart was taken by the majestic 4runners, I have to say im very happy with the thing.

i was very impressed with the places this thing took me on mt etna. i went every where my buddies 06 wrangler with 33s went with little to no trouble. Sorry no pictures of us on the mountain too dark to take them up there. but heres some aftermath.

Soon after i purchased the 4runner i stumbled upon a great deal on a wheel/tire combo and had sold the cheap looking brush guard off the front.

New wheel/31in tires playing in the snow we had this winter.

That is a nice looking runner. Dont let the 3.0 stories scare you. They exist, but try finding a low mileage 3.0. Engines having 2-300 thousand miles are found all day long.

Whats your plans? Looking good so far.

i dont really have too many big plans for it maybe a small body lift to fit some 33s and maybe a winch later down the road im going to need it to be as reliable as possible. I havent had any issues out of my 3.0 yet (knock on wood) it sometimes hesitates when i shift every now and again but other than that i love it.

In other news...
Got the bumpers mounted and painted today aswell as the sliders/nerf bars/whatever else there called.
