Thanks everyone!
So my truck started over-heating today. It scared me pretty bad on the interstate, needle got up to the red so i pulled off.
Coolant was boiling out of the over-flow bottle onto the ground. I let it sit and filled it back up and drove home. Once i got home it started over-heating again.
So i'm thinking the T-stat is stuck shut, or i have a huge clog in the rad. The hose from the rad to the water pump is cool to the touch, (shut off for 30 minutes) the hose from the T-stat to the rad is still hot!
I am looking at a dual stage T-stat, just wondering if the part # is the same for the 22r motor.
Any advice for a newb?

Well its been awhile! with school in the way and a unexpected head gasket failure ive been slacking on the updates.
I finished the head gasket and got the truck running decent enough, to drive up to DC to do some wheeling
