I scored a decent bed about 150 miles away (these are a rare commodity in WV). The guy had it on a 2nd gen pickup so I didn't feel have to feel bad about taking apart a pickup
. Mine was rotting apart to the point of no return. I think the paint was the only thing holding it together, plus the fender wells didn't even have the original shape, just lumped up bondo that someone had done a cheap paint job on.

Also got a chance to test out the springs: the above pic is with 1200 lbs of gravel in the bed, and it came out level! Although I had been sporting the raked look since I hadn't adjusted my t bars yet.

Here's my two-man/one-weekend paint job that a buddy and I did a couple weeks ago. This was my first experience with body work and his first whole-vehicle job. We put in about 12 hours of sanding and repairing a few rust holes:
