Long travel IFS

So we all know there are tons of threads on "SAS vs IFS" and I think we can all agree by now that SAS is better for a trail rig. So to start off I can honestly say I have a 85 pickup, manual trans with SFA and I also have a 86 pickup, Auto trans with IFS. I love both trucks however I am going to be getting rid of my 85 because I have no need for both so here is my question REALISTICLY how reliable is long travel ifs? I was debating on swapping my 86 to SFA however I do DD my trucks as well as take them off road and idk if im getting old or what but my SFA truck just beats the hell out of me both on and off the trail and im tired of it haha my ifs truck is a dream to drive however I do sometimes push my trucks alittle harder than I should on the trail and like the peace of mind SAS has to offer but the ride quality is so much better with IFS so I would like to hear from people who have experienced/insight with long travel IFS to help make up my mind as I cannot find to much info on it
