Greetings fellow Yota enthusiasts! First off I want to say that me joining YotaTech has been a long time coming! Im very glad to finally become registered. Im not sure how many people will see this post or how many people will bother reading, but to those who do, THANK YOU! My current rig is a 1993 4Runner with 259,800 miles.
Cosmetically it is in VERY rough shape. HOWEVER, I love the way it drives (besides the annoying surging idle). Just had a few things done to it after I bought it.
-Timing Chain
-New Radiator
-New Water Pump
Anyways, with those major repairs out of the way, I can finally start to dig in and really see what it needs. I will keep you guys posted. There's a back story to all of this. In High School I saved every penny I earned and was able to buy a beautiful 1991 4Runner (22RE) in May of 2010. This is where my Toyota addiction began!
It served me very well until this last January when I was hit head on by an old fart who shouldn't have been driving. "Ralph" was totaled. I was DEVASTATED. I had been everywhere in that truck.
So here we are in November of 2015 and I finally have what I had been praying for these past few months, another 4Runner.
It will need some work here and there, but I have tremendous faith in Toyotas that they will do whatever you need them to do as long as you take care of them. I am not the most mechanically inclined individual, but I have the confidence to do my own repairs with a little help from fellow Yotatechers. Really excited to be here guys!

Welcome to yotatech Logan. Love the scenery in the pics! Where were the pics taken?
Thanks for checking out my Thread! The old 4Runner pics are from Guanella Pass in Colorado just outside of Leadville. The new picture is from where I live in Southern Utah! It's amazing down here!
Welcome Back. Those pics look familiar. My parents live in Moab. Such a beautiful part of the country. I could live there the rest of my life and be totally happy.
I think it's safe to say it is stupid easy to get addicted to the yota and I'd be willing to bet everyone on YT would agree! Glad you were able to curb your addiction with another yota!
Rough idle was fixed with a quick cleaning of the EGR valve! Also, the Upper Intake Manifold Gasket was shot so I had that replaced as well. Now everything runs smooth as silk and I'm very happy with the way things are going. This weekend I plan on checking out my front end to see what the faint clanking sound is when I push on the breaks. Nothing squeaks or whines when I make turns. The only sound I have is this when I am driving straight. Not sure what it could be. Happy Trails!
