Got bored while i'm in the process of saving up on another tire. So i decided to paint the rear drums black.

Decided to go with longer shackles over AAL, i wanted a softer ride.. So i need help on deciding on which set of these shackles to get and if these are going to be long enough for a 2 to 2.5 BJS up front. And if not can you point me to a 2 inch lift shackle..

These..

Most parts stores have a universal set of shackles. It's usually where they have the add-a-leaf. I used a set from auto zone, 9 years ago and haven't had a single issue

How much lift did they offer in the shackles that you got from there?
How well do they ride?

I think I got up to 4" on shackles. Rides fine to me. Short wheel base 4x4 don't ride like daddy's but as long as you add a correct length shock you'll be fine. I didn't at 1st and just let my old ones stretch till I got newer longer shocks

May end up going that route and installing poly bushings to help with it.
Thanks for the info.

Well I've been thinking that i want to put an aftermarket muffler on the rig just so it'll be able to breath a little better and have some tone.
What would yall suggest is best?

I don't want anything loud and obnoxious, just something that sounds decent. I've been thinking about a flowmaster 40 series or maybe even a glasspack. Let me know what you guys think!

Went and picked up another tire today! Just one more and i will have a full set.
I found me a bjs kit with the diff drop. Hopefully that'll do the trick for these 33's . Now if i can just buy that bjs kit, some shackles for the rear, a battery, another tire, and a steering rebuild kit, the truck should be road worthy!

Just a little update..

I got a nice 3 D cell Mag Light for my birthday and i figured it would be extremely useful on the trail at night or for whatever reason. I decided to mount it on the dash for easy access. And it looks cool there lol

Happy Birthday. The truck is looking good. I have Mag Lites that are 20 or 30 years old. They make great self defense weapons too. I like those floor mats. Where'd you get them?

Thanks rustED, i really am happy about it. I ordered a bj spacer kit with a diff drop and a whole new steering kit for the front. Then bought some longer shackles for the rear along with poly bushings. Everything is expected to be here tuesday. I'm hoping that it'll help out with my tires from scrubbing so bad.

Oh and some longer procomp shocks!

The past few nights i've been working like crazy getting the truck done.

I installed the bj spacers, along with new lower and upper ball joints.
I installed a new idle arm and also tie rod ends.
Oh and i did the pinch weld mod.
And put in procomp 9000 shocks in the front

I'll upload some pics once i get it all alighned and straight.

Nice work on the ball joint spacers, looks great. Have you got your longer shackles for the rear yet?

Wow, it's come a long way since that before pic!

Thanks guys. And yeah, rusted. I bought some from oriellys for 20 bucks. They are pretty thick too. I think I'll install those once I get shocks for the rear

Today i picked up and installed a battery and a distributor with a rotor.
I was hoping that was the reason why i wasn't getting enough spark

Did you check all your grounds? Could be the coil or igniter?

Looks good with all 4 tires on it! Its come along way!
