This photo shows where i mounted my CB on the left of the console, I keep my KABAR beside the CB, one of the wireless remotes for the GOLight in the center console, and the external Speaker for the CB on the right of the console.

Well its been a while, not too many major mods lately, just doing some wheeling and such. Turns out now i have to fix a nice crease in my passenger door. The pins that prevent it from opening too far were out, which is probably my fault since i forgot to replace them after putting my full doors back on, but one of my moron friends decided to fly my door open very aggressive like.

I have since, found a hardtop at a junkyard. its in almost perfect shape, i picked it up for 80 bucks. They have one more left, im thinking of picking it up to make a camper top. i have a nice concept in mind. The only other minor mod, is i smoked my signals and taillights, and blacked out my grille, rear bumper, and mirrors.

Also, does anyone else have any recommendations on a strong winch bumper? If not, i may end up just fabbing my own. Im very disappointed in my ARB. I was pulling on my friend's jeep, and it actually sandwiched the lower mounts on the ARB. The end result? My bumper is now bent downward, and it pushed up on my front fenders, buckling the ends of them.

Anyway, moving on, here are a couple recent quick wheeling pics.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

B-Yodaful:

I just wheel some access roads in the game lands in blue knob and cresson. Theres not too many trails down this way, there used to be some up at murf, near ashville if youve ever heard of it. I heard theres also some trails in blandburg, ginter, and i know there are trails in madera. Where do you wheel at? Maybe we can make a run some time.

WEll I haven't been wheelin lately because my 22re burns oil like crazy. BUt this weeknd I'm picking up a MB diesel motor. I'm sure that will take me sometime to figure out but well worth it. BUt i would love to see you rig up and close.

Nice Man! Are you going OM617? Ive been working on a plan to do that swap for months now, my 22RE is starting to knock, so i might bite the bullet and do the swap, or just go SBC. Id love to go OM617 though, the hardest part is just the fan dilemma. The stock fan on the OM617 wont clear the firewall, so i was thinking of going with an e-fan. That, and i need all the parts to do a 5 speed swap at the same time.

Yeah thats what I'm doing I have a 5 speed so no worries there. Not sure if I'm going to get an adapter kit or build my own adapter plate, not sure we will see. I'm sure it wont be done till spring (just bought a house and have twins on the way). But I found the 300D coupe for $300 and the motor was just re built. So I'm super pumped. I know its not an easy swap but I think it will be sweet if I can make it work. When I get it I'll send you some pics.

Not too much new going on with the 4runner, just cleaning it up, repainting things like my ARB and sliders before winter gets here.

Im going to be doing more small mods over the next few weeks, so ill be sure to post up. Im hoping to get my guages swapped out, switch all my interior lights out with LEDs, get my visor and bugshield on, etc. Im trying to stick with minor mods for now, as im planning on a big mod soon.

Motor swap!

I found an OM617 turbodiesel for $115, possibly in running order, the guy at the junkyard said they had no way to start it, but whether it does or doesnt run, im going to rebuild it either way. Im going up to take a second look and hopefully get it pulled next weekend.

Ill post up as soon as the mods start!

If you can do it without cutting the rad support, I'll really be impressed!

Yeah I know, but your 'Runner's so honking CLEAN! It'd be such a shame if you have to cut it up.

You gonna keep the auto? That'll REALLY make it interesting!

Thanks for the compliments! I agree, hopefully i wont have to cut it. I am most likely going to swap it out witha w56. I dont believe the auto would hold up first off, and secondly, driving a manual diesel is all the fun in it. Plus i miss being able to just throw it in one gear and cruise on the highway

On that subject, i did some searching, but does anyone know offhand whether the same transfercase is used behind the auto's as the W56? or will i have to get a donor transfercase too? If mine will bolt up to a w56, id love to keep it, as it only has about 20k on it, if that.
