cjs4unner's 1986 4Runner Build-Up
i bought this 86 4runner about 2 months ago for $1400 i know i got RIPPED.. first day i had it it would barely stay running now runs better i did full tune up. i replaced plugs, wires, airfilter, cap, rotor, and the fuel filter. the fuel filter was HARD to find and even harder to remove after getting it off i realized it was the originall and was really shocked.
also after the first day of driving it i noticed that i could not drive down the road straight so i replaced the tie rods. idler arm and pitman what a pita the pitman was. after doing that she drove straight! then i went to firestone and picked up a set of 33x12.5x15 firestone destination m/t's nice aggressive tires for only $700.00 NEW.
after two week of having it the clutch went out so i replaced that with the help of yotatech!! now shifts great..
then after driving around town for about a month i decided it was time for a stereo so i shearched CL and found an alpine head unit for $40 so i picked it up and put it in. then got some cheaper speakers and put those in now i got tunes =)
yesterday i went on the freeway to go on a wheeling trip but unfortunately i found out i could not do 60mph!!! unless i went downhill lol the slightest incline i would drop anywhere from 55 to 45!
cant figure out why any help much appreciated=)
also i am looking into trimming my fenders since the new tires rub and the wheel wells are rusty..
any comments and suggestions much appreciated thanks!

old thread revived!
updates
4 runner has trimmed fenders, bad injector/s, left hubs locked accidently now they need rebuilt or new ones, and got a job! so will have $$$ for mods and repairs.
Also just got another clutch in and new master and slave cylinders cause both were leaking very bad... the cause of my clutch to fail only after 4 or 5 months!
mods/repairs to come slowly but surely
1. clean up fenders
2. replace injectors
3. replace or rebiuld hubs
4. fix front windows so they roll down and up without help
5. find a set of front and rear 3rds with atleast 4.88s!
6. front and rear bumpers to replace stock tin foil ones
7. upgrade stereo system
8. get some bright off road lights and maybe a light bar
9. and someday SAS =)
and also need to find out how to post pics!!
