I see the guy who bought my old truck was actually going to mount a 121 where I had my radio. Thats what I suggested to him but idk what he actually did.

Honestly there is not much difference at all. I can't complain about my 22re I actually had the speedo up to 90 one time on the way to the beach. Since I had bigger tires I had no clue how fast I was actually going but im sure it was about 97-99 mph. The 3.0 has a little more torq but speed wise they are similar. And then again that could be because I only have 235/65s on my truck at this moment.

ya i dont see why people put down the 3vze so much. my 3.0 with an auto tranny and 33x13.50 swampers will still hit 80 on the speedo. lol but you ever fix the bed??

UPDATE well sort of... but I did get a few pics.

I had to service 3 vehicles this weekend and found a little time to work on my toolbox. I got it all cleaned up, I have not got it on the truck yet but its ready to go on.

It was a little uneasy on the eyes when I first got it due to it being used by a painter but for $60... The top looked as bad if not worse than the front when I started this is about halfway through cleaning the paint off.

FINISHED! Aircraft paint remover is a lifesaver! I was contemplating painting the whole thing black but with a little polishing with some aluminum cleaner its nice and shinny. It turned out a lot better than I thought it would so its staying like this.

Best 60 bucks Ive spent in a while.

Heres some of my cb mount too.

I'm doing my best to find some tires. The ones on my 4runner are close to needing replacing and the ones on my truck now will swap out so if I can find some for my truck I will have an extra set for the 4runner. Hopefully it will save me from buying 2 sets of tires.

BTW Here is the next project to replace the Buick for those that are interested.

Toolbox looks really good, what polish did you use on it, Meguiars? CB looks good too, wish I would have done that, instead runnin the small cobra where the ashtray use to be.

I was running a 2000 trucker on my previous truck mounted to the rear of the toolbox. I am currently using a magnetic mount wilson 1000 but it is not mine so I may be going back to the 2000 in the future.

It was meguiars powermetal aluminum I think. I had to go over it twice in some places but it really did a good job.

Ok so The body work begins, paint is just around the corner. To start out I replaced my fender and fixed where the grill was jacked up by the bumper.

My next weekend project is to fix the dent in the side of the bed and a few hail dents in the hood. Then I can remove the graphics and give her some fresh black paint. Its slowly coming together.
Looks great man. Question for you, where did you get the new fender from? I am in need of two new one's for my '88, and shipping is killer from somewhere like Rockauto, and can't seem to find a local place that will sell direct and not just to a shop.....sorry for the hijack, appreciate any info you throw my way.

What is the farthest yall have ever talked with the whips?

The reason I bought my wilson 2000 was because they are exceptional antennas and I know a lot of people who will swear by them.

Well i mainly use mine for hunting where we all are fairly close to each other but i have heard people talkin that were anywhere from 5-15 miles. the wilsons are for sure one of the best antennas out there but the whip is something can save you a lil money

I mainly use mine for hunting also but it did come in handy on trips with buddies when I had my first truck. I haven't had any different radios or antennas but this one is pretty good. On a clear day I can talk to the hunting club 20 miles away.

I get what you are saying about saving money. Thats why I pulled my cb and wilson off my other truck before I sold it. It did sit in my room for over a year but it kept me from having to buy it over again haha. If I have to buy another setup I will probably go with something a little cheaper. But at the time I was 17 and the money was burning a hole in my pocket. I almost bought a linear to hook up also but that would have just been overkill and a waste of money.

oh i hear ya, i didnt know you already had the other antenna but the whole cb thing can get expensive when you start looking into hi/low cbs. Most hunt clubs round here use hi/lows which is why i got one

Ok so I finally got a bit done on the truck yesterday and today. For one I went out and found a little mud just to get it dirty lol. Yesterday I prepped and rolled in some bedliner so I could mount my tool box. I would have taken pictures but I didn't have my camera with me so all I have is the finished product.

Today I worked on dad's Toyota for a while I don't have any pictures but he bought the 94 ext cab in the garage that I am working on putting a motor in so he can resell it. Finished installing a new timing belt, water pump, plugs and wires on that so now I am waiting on new flywheel bolts. We bought a 3.0 that was mated to a manual tranny and are switching it over to match the auto in the '94.

So I moved back to my truck for a while I popped out the dent in the bed...it still needs some doctoring but its better than it was. I also removed all the graphics.

^^Mud Graphics^^ I thought it looked pretty neat! ha
