Very kind, Grego!

GOD WILLING AND THE CREEK DON'T RISE.......I'll be getting my timing kit, today, then I could very well do it tomorrow. Dang, that would be great. Actually, the main concern I have is 1, getting the diff back up in place smoothly.... and 2, more important that the diff, by far, ...GETTING THE THING BUTTONED UP, FAST! LOL. It's gotta be pretty quick as the FIPK only can tac up for so long, ya know?

I'll Private Message you on here with my Cell#, IF the parts come in......otherwise, I'm kinda stuck until they do, ya know?

Thanks, SO MUCH, man, for the offer.... I'm pretty tight with the knowledge of these things, but still learning quite a bit.... and for the rest, I HAVE THESE GREAT GUYS, THROUGHOUT THIS THREAD!!! hahaha.

I'll send you my cell#, now, but hopefully.....good news that my stuff came in, AS WELL! lol.

Mark

Not sure why, but I all of the sudden, for the first time, can NOT even access anything by clicking on your name, Grego... maybe you could send me a Private Message with your cell# or something? I can access that, but it's not letting me access the drop down links when I click on your name, above....actually, it's not letting me access it through anyone's name, even Bo and XXX! GRRR! YOTATECHNICAL ADVISORS? Any reason for this?

Hey, the last chain and guides(plastic) were in tact at 165K....almost NO slapage, etc. I'm sure the oil pump and rings weren't so nice.....and I KNOW there bearings weren't! lol.

Thanks fer stoppin in, Jerry.... appreciate the thought! lol.

I'll give you a call, Greg..... however, NO BROWN TRUCK, ...yet.....'peers out window, longingly, leg bouncing nervously', hahaha. Not sure engnbldr uses UPS, do they? Can't remember how my CAM got to me. I'll look at the box shortly. If it's USPS>... well, might be next friday before I could get your help again! lol. Jk, Engnbldr's stuff usually get's here pretty quick. This is day 2....but ya never know. If it's tomorrow.....well, USPS is usually here by 10am.... UPS>........5pm, lol. I'll let you know, Greg, thanks again man!

Ok guys, ...now I'm wondering 2 things... 1..... is it best to get the cover on, bolted in hand tight snug, ....THEN get the pan on? Or pan first, then get the cover on? ....2.......should I put any sealer(a TINY film) on the tensioner?........

Thanks for your thoughts on the subject!

Mark

Yeah, that's what I planned, thanks, Jerry. Just was hoping Lumpster would chime in again and share how he did it w/the pan going on first! lol. Made me curious, especially since it was SO SNUG when trying to drop the pan, lol. Lumpy's a stud, I guess! hahaha.

Man, I would LOVE to show you guys around the South Bay and Angeles Crest Mountains... IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL, especially in spring/summer. It's literally a couple places that you could be blindfolded, dropped, and have NO IDEA you were just off downtown LA, lol. We could have a really cool road trip. Yeah, day wheeling is great, ..but camp trips with a few 'wrench monkey-toy lovers' would be really cool... Kinda like Scuba's trip in the Angeles Crest. lol.

Edit; OOOPS^^^ beat me here! lol

How I did it was I lifted the motor with a 2x4 and ratchet strap...yes we like them here!

So I was able to put the pan in before the cover because the head was off so it was easier. Now if I were in your shoes I'd put the cover on first then the pan, don't want to mess up the H/G.

Brandon, PFFFFFFFFFBT! LOL. hahaha. That actually got me laughin.....I could use that! lol.

I hear ya, Lumpy, .....I don't remember you saying, before, THAT YOU PULLED THE HEAD! LOL. Yeah, that changes things, lol.

Hey, I got some pics, and I really cleaned up the pan, block-bottom, block-front/cover surface, .....and I think I'm ready to go..... But could you PLEASE tell me, anyone.... Does the tensioner get any sealer behind it? It was oozing out the side of it when I cranked the crank(pressure)... so I just wondered if that's ok or if it's supposed to have sealer??????(meaning, a tiny film). ......K, Pics............>>>

no sealant anywhere near the tensioner. That's normal on the tensioner to do that, mine did too. I think they put something in it to prelube/corrosion inhibit it or something.

Not sure you know what I mean, Brandon....

When my chain and tensioner,....everything still attached, ...I was turning it over to TDC(making sure) and had to back up a lil...as I did, the tensioner started to weep out out the side/back, to the left(Passenger) side. Just curious is all. I could read up and find out, for sure, but I figured I'd ask you guys, ya know? lol. Thanks!
