Cartertannahill971's 1987 Toyota Pickup
Been a member for a while but haven't posted anything so figured I would start a build up thread. Got this pickup from my grandpa when I turned 18. I have had it 2 years now and haven't done too much. Had my fun run in the mud and decided it just puts too much wear and tear on things so I'll be sticking to snow wheeling mainly. It has a ton of sentimental value since it was once my fathers pickup and he passed away in 2006 so I'm planning on keeping it forever and building it up. Plans are generally SAS, 5" suspension lift, maybe an inch or two body lift, 35" tires, 5.29 gears, ARB locker in front and Detroit or Grizzly in rear, interior roll cage, bobbed bed, get it fully armored, just get everything cleaned up and mechanically sound. Very slow build due to funds like many others I'm sure but it should be fun.

Started the first paint job on it. Flat black.
This was the finished product of flat black. Skipped all the chrome first time.
After a month or so I went to gloss black and painted all the chrome flat black.
Just a picture of it up in the mountains a few minutes from home.
It was white after the gloss black and then a little while later went to red. It's been through quite a few rattle cans!
Buddy towing me home when my ignition control module went out. That one was a pretty spendy part.
My buddies 12.5" wide tires made ruts a little off from my little stock tires and without warning shot me right into the snow bank.
Had my fun in the mud. Just wears down too much stuff.
Had to pull out buddies jeep tj after it blew the radiator first day he got it. I guess it's a jeep thing. Haha
Got some new tires on. 31x10.5r15 Toyo open country A/T's for now. Made it a much smoother ride than all four different tires.
Most recent paint scheme. Good ol' US of A!
This will probably be the last paint job until I bob the bed and ill do some other color I'm sure.
Well that's it for now. I'll get more stuff up slowly but surely as things get going on. Thanks for looking.
