building a 90 short box
i started with a reg cab short box 90 with a 22re 5 speed.
it now has a 4" pro comp stage 2 ifs lift with the reinforcing bars to the transmission crossmember.
63" chevys in the back
3" body lift. i used to hate them but they make it so easy to work on so many things and i had it kicking around
35s on 17" black spoke rims
4.56 gears with a detroit in the back open in the front for now.
gm alternator swap, fully installed and the alt i got is crap so tomorrow it come back out and gonna go brand new. shouldn't have trusted a used one.
also an optima yellow top to take it
trail gear tube front bumper with a ramsey 8000lb
i kept the ifs because of comfort and i plan on using it for hunting as well as off road.
pics to follow shortly. they weren't loading before
its been a process over the summer and almost ready to go

got everything in and took it around the block today to discover that i was had and got sold a front diff that is not a 4.56 and thus useless to me.
my starter also likes to keep going after starting and after i turn the key off sometimes. i have pulled it out cleaned it, everything seems good. wasn't very dirty and its fairly new bearings and such all work smoothly. started pulling the ignition apart to see if i have a short in it somewhere. any ideas on what else could work for me?

finally got a new front diff with 4.56
it was an add diff but i swapped out the long side front my old diff removing the system.
worked out the bugs on my starting problem, cleaned all wires replaced starter and had a new ignition since the old one had a key broken inside of it.
next project will be wiring lights under it and putting spot lights on the front
i will post some flex pics in the next couple of days, but I'm rather impressed with it for an ifs truck

one tire 20" up with the sway bar still in the front. I've removed it but haven't got it on the forklift yet. hoping for another 4-6" i would love to clear 2' with an ifs truck.
also the front fender is now smashed as on my first run the lower ball joint on the passenger side decided to strip out losing the wheel destroying my cv and leaving me stuck on a trail. luckily i wasn't too far from civilization, got some parts delivered to the entrance and after 3 hours had it rolling again. made it home with 2 wheel drive luckily, only winched once to get around a rock.
the joint itself was fine just stripped the nut. have come to one of two conclusions either i got cheap parts or the hole that it sits in has ovulated just slightly. My first thought was i didn't tight it enough but after talking to the frame shop that did my alignment that they double checked all of them

it will be going in in february when i get a new r and p for the rear.
had a successful trail day with no mishaps. i think i finally have all the bugs worked out.
also swapped the pro comp mts for toyo mts. way better tire, better side lugs, performed much better on the trail. both sets are around 50%. the joys of being friends with a tire shop i keep rotating decent used tires
