Broke Blokes Slow Build (1987 4wd PickUp)
Alright so I figured I may as well start a build thread for my truck so I can keep track of my mods and get input from more experienced yota owners. The truck is a 1987 single cab pickup. 4 wheel drive 5 speed manual. 4 inch suspension lift all around on 33's. It also has an engine swapped into it from a 86 2wd with 137k miles on it. So far it has been a disaster lol
, my rear diff was leaking so me and buddy tore into it to find my ring gear was missing 5 teeth
. Decided I may aswell regear her to 4.88's since I needed a new ring and pinion. That's been done, then once we got the truck drivable again my friend took the truck to the high school to replace the wheel bearings. The auto tech teacher (who also teaches the course at the college that I will be starting in september) told him that it has a big vacuum leak that is most likely inside of the carb. Also the truck needs new distributor cap and rotar as well as spark plug wires. At first I thought I got this truck for a bargain but the more we fix the more problems pop up
. Oh well lol ya win some ya lose some. Also need to order a rebuild kit for this carb and see if we can't get this webber air tight and running right. Sorry about no pictures, don't have any of what has happened so far because I didn't really plan to do a build thread but when it is light out I will show you guys the truck and the jimmy rigged engine bay. Guess I was too excited to be getting a Toyota to find some of these things but for what I paid I think it may still be a good deal. Anyways thanks for reading my rambling mess!
