What made you Bob the bed? I see the hitch receiver is still at the factory location

That's the one I really like too. I'm thinking about using a contractor cap for the top. We will see how it goes

If you look back a few pages you will see how rusty the bed and fenders were on the truck. So I cut the fenders and bobbed the bed a foot in order to get more life out of the truck without having to buy a bunch of parts. It worked. But I feel like it's time is coming to an end.

We are having an ice storm here in northern Indiana, and I woke up to a very close call with my truck.

Everything appears to be fine. Just really glad I bobbed the bed a few years ago, otherwise the back corner would be toast. Oh well. It lives on!

Glad the truck is safe still, although........if the tree hit the bed, your insurance would have bought you a new flat bed.

Yeah, maybe. IFF one has comprehensive. And not Farmers* even if you do.

Not bashing, just saying had some really unfair dealing with them in the past.

If a tree falls on your vehicle while in your driveway,, doesn't that go through your homeowners insurance?

I've taken time the last few weekends to thoroughly clean up my garage. It has been a disaster zone since the frame swap. I made 3 trips to the scrap yard, took out 6 bags of trash and countless trips to the burn pile. I'm tired of not being able to walk thru or use my garage, so I got rid of a lot of stuff. I'm also trying to sell a lot of stuff that was left over from the Land Cruiser. I still have a ways to go but I'm happy with my progress.

I did get some work done on my truck this weekend. My fuel mileage has continued to be terrible, like 160 miles per tank terrible. So I adjusted the AFM fuel wheel several teeth lean, trying to gain some mileage. Driving around town after I adjusted it sees no change in power or drivability.

I also was able to get my door pockets put back on my doors and out of my garage. Its not much, but it's the little things that make a difference.

I will let you know what happens with my fuel mileage this tank. I'm curious as well

Submission is a sign of weakness. (LOL)

That was a casual mention of "opening the curtain to the inner sanctums". What is going on in there (the AFM)?

I was adjusting the Fuel Wheel inside the AFM to lean it out a bit. Trying to get better gas mileage

I am going to redo my interior tomorrow. I plan on installing kilmat sound deadening mat, new carpet, and bucket seats. It should be a busy day.

I paid 60 bucks for these bucket seats. They are from an 02 Nissan pathfinder. Wish me luck

Well I guess I forgot to update this. Kilmat is awesome stuff and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quieter ride. It was easy to install and fairly inexpensive. The hardest part was removing all of the trim and seats etc. I don't have a before and after video or sound test, but I can say that my wife noticed the difference and liked the fact that we don't have to yell at each other to have a conversation. So I will take that as a win.

On to some pictures.

I had to take screen shots of some videos I took because I didn't take very many pictures to show what I was doing. These are pictures not videos do not try and click on them... lol

Some carpet pictures....

And the final product with the seats and center console installed..

Center console is from an 04 Pontiac Vibe in case you were wondering. Overall I'm very happy with it.

the seats are very comfortable compared to the worn out 60/40 split bench seat that the springs had severely sagged in. The seats are a taller than the original ones and my head is close to the roof. But nothing terrible. I'm 5'10 so if anyone is over 6 ft those seats may not work.

I am very pleased with the center console. I looked long and hard for a console that was "stand alone" meaning it didn't connect to anything else. So it has finished clean trim edges everywhere and seems to fit into the space very well.

I spent 60 dollars on the seats and 10 dollars on the console. Well worth the money in my opinion
